Ibrahim Maalouf | Run The World (Girls) (Eng Sub)

For the music video of his cover of “Run The World/Girls” by Beyoncé, trumpet player Ibrahim Maalouf has imagined a poignant scenario that would take place in a totalitarian France in 2027. French dancer Hajiba Fahmy, who dances with the diva since two years interprets here the leader of a resistant group. In this hypothetical regime, people of dual nationality should renounce to it and would fall into clandestinity if they don’t agree.

"RED & BLACK LIGHT" is an ode to the woman of today and its founder and fundamental role to hope for a better future. The women in my family have had, and still have today, an immeasurable influence on all my musical work. Particularly because they inspire me greatly in how they manage their daily lives and that of those around them. Despite lives in mazes, complex and often dramatic, they carry a strength and stability similar to a form of unshakable trance. They give me the impression of never losing sight of what is essential.
